Today the inner steel ring was delivered.

The steel rim is made out of two half circles. It is made by a specialized factory in the south of the Netherlands that can bend structural steel in complex shapes. The dimensions and weight of the steel make it impossible to handle it without lifting equipment. Here you see the supporting structure in its final state, ready to receive the 80 kg of the half-circle.

The tolerances of the steel are meticulous; about 1 centimeter in the diameter of the circle, and half a centimeter in the plane of the circle.
