Greenest Park

Greenest Park is a dynamic hub for sustainable enterprises focused on innovation, education, and inspiration in food production. Located within PARK21 between Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep, it brings together pioneers in agriculture, horticulture, and circular systems, serving as a meeting point for professionals, students, and conscious consumers. The park supports hands-on learning, educational activities, and public engagement, with companies on-site involving visitors directly in their production processes.

Axes

The spatial layout of Greenest Park is organized along two main axes: the educational axis and the recreational axis. The educational axis hosts exhibitions, workshops, school gardens, and innovation spaces, fostering interaction between businesses and visitors. The recreational axis connects Greenest Park to its surroundings and includes shaded, relaxing areas, with a clear view of the park’s iconic landmark—a suspended living tree with exposed roots, symbolizing innovation.

Expo

At the heart of the park lies the Expo, a two-story, 1,000 m² educational greenhouse housing “The Mushroom Experience” the Oyster Mushroom Farm, workshop spaces, and a farm shop. The Expo also includes a central exhibition (“Children of the Night”) and a multifunctional reception space with room for 120 guests. Visitors can overlook the exhibitions from a balcony integrated into the experience.

Business Farms

Opposite the Expo are five business farms, offering modular units for start-ups and growing companies in sustainable agriculture. Units range from 125 m² to 2,400 m² and include shared facilities, loading zones, and adaptable greenhouse spaces. Trees planted around the buildings provide natural cooling and shade. Each farm also features a communal greenhouse for meetings and educational programs.

Behind the Expo is an elevated terrain for light-independent farming, such as mushroom cultivation. Until development, this 8,000 m² area remains a flower meadow. Adjacent to it are school gardens and a beekeeping field, which complete the educational program.

Restaurant & Accommodations

The restaurant, housed in a 250 m² greenhouse, offers meals made with on-site produce and also serves overnight guests. It is spatially connected to the accommodation area via the leisure axis. The accommodations consist of up to 70 rooms located in a 3,000 m² greenhouse, designed for tranquility, natural immersion, and year-round comfort thanks to the sheltered and shaded environment.

Greenest Park will be developed in phases. Phase 1 includes the Expo and the first business farm.
