Today we finished the rings edges…FINALLY! It was a pain, and a lot of work. The tension in the ribs is considerable, and in two ways: the curve along the ring, and a slight twist in the axis of the rib. The latter was hard to fixate on the spacers. We made special wooden placeholders (see post Edge rib stiffness) that would maintain the needed curve and twist while outlining the length and the position. The ribs are important as they define the whole shape visible when finished and support the outer covering as well as the inner separating walls.
