Here you have a closeup of the spacers, attached to the steel ring. In the curve you can see the twist starting to appear. This twist is the base of the Moebius form of the artwork.
The spacers are made of wood and painted white, so they don’t absorb or block the light. The curved edge of the spacers are to avoid creating unwanted shadows on the opaque covering. Most of the spacers are mounted to the ring today, and we can start assembly of the outer edge ribs. The small piece of tape in the center is to check if the spacer is maintaining its position and rotation on the ring.
