Apphasia

Ap2hasia is an communication aid for people suffering from aphasia. It provides an image based context for a who – what – where – when – why & how syntax in a smartphone environment. It is an ‘Ehealth App’.

The smartphone provides an environment that is very common in modern society. It is an enhanced communication device with modern technology like GPS, digital calendars, photo’s & text to speech. It is also the center of image enhanced ways of communication, like Twitter, Instagram & Facebook. The goal of ap2hasia is to port this technology and its image based capabilities into a means of image based communication for people with aphasia.

The need for such an app was created by the stroke of my brother Ronald de Jong, resulting in aphasia. Research made clear that nothing similar existed. If my brother is to be helped something needs to be developed. We are currently working on a business plan.
